We're looking for a heavy equipment journeyman to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, either in our well-equipped shop or through our mobile service unit. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems on heavy equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices
- Troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes of equipment failures
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to efficiently diagnose and repair problems
- Collaborate with parts department to ensure timely access to necessary parts
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Document all repairs and maintenance performed on customer equipment
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following all company safety protocols
- perform test drives and road assessments
Requirements
- Red Seal Certification as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (421A) or equivalent provincial certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on heavy-duty equipment. Trucks, Forestry, Construction and Agriculture experience will be considered
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) without assistance
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Shift Schedule
- Full-time
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Overtime will be required depending on customer and seasonal requirements.
- Time away from home may be required depending on the technician abilities and position
- Rotation in the On-Call schedule
